Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Voitheia Clinical Research Solutions (“Voitheia,” “we,” “us”) connects principal investigators, universities, teaching hospitals and sponsors across Nigeria and the wider African region. This policy explains what information we collect through voitheia.org, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using our site, submitting the contact form, subscribing to our newsletter, or applying to the Investigator Network, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways:

  • Information you provide directly — name, email, phone number, organisation, organisation type, and message content when you use the contact form, subscribe to our newsletter, or submit a membership application to the Investigator Network.
  • Information collected automatically— pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location, gathered via standard server logs and cookies to keep the site secure and understand how it’s used.
  • Information about research opportunities— we aggregate publicly available grant, fellowship, trial and event listings from third-party sources for discovery purposes. We do not collect your personal data on your behalf when you follow an external link to apply — that exchange is governed by the third party’s own privacy policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form.
  • To review and process Investigator Network membership applications.
  • To send newsletter updates on opportunities, events and publications, where you’ve subscribed.
  • To maintain the security, performance and integrity of the site.
  • To comply with legal and regulatory obligations in Nigeria and, where applicable, other jurisdictions we operate in.

We do not sell personal information to third parties.

4. Cookies

We use a limited set of cookies for essential site functionality (such as remembering your navigation preferences) and basic, privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect some site functionality.

5. Data Sharing

We share information only in the following circumstances:

  • With sponsors, CROs or partner institutions, but only where you have applied to the Investigator Network and consented to your credentialed profile being visible to them.
  • With service providers who help us operate the site (such as email delivery), under confidentiality obligations.
  • Where required by law, regulation, or a valid legal process.

6. Data Retention

We retain contact and application data for as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry, maintain an active Investigator Network profile, or meet our legal and record-keeping obligations. You may request deletion at any time as described in Section 7.

7. Your Rights

Consistent with the Nigeria Data Protection Act and applicable regional data protection principles, you may request to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request deletion of your information, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Withdraw consent to newsletter communications at any time via the unsubscribe link.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at partnerships@voitheia.org.

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are intended for research professionals, institutions and organisations. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our services evolve or as legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

10. Contact Us
